I first noticed almond milk from juice detox packages where almond milk will be on the list. Almond milk started appearing at organic markets, I thought this must be one nutritious milk. Many people turn to almond milk as a healthy non dairy alternative. There are some carcinogenic concerns regarding the Carrageenan found in store bought almond. As with most food, food made from scratch with whole and natural ingredients is the most nutritious for our body. The good news is almond milk are really easy to make at home. In this recipe, I use chinese red dates to sweeten the milk. If you are intending the use the milk for soups or other savory dishes, the dates and vanilla extract can be omitted. Straining the almond milk makes the preparation a breeze, and the milk silky smooth.
